The Songs Of Dua Lipa



"New Love" is the debut single by English singer Dua Lipa, included on the deluxe edition of her 2017 self-titled debut studio album. It was written by Lipa and its producers Emile Haynie and Andrew Wyatt about the singer's struggle to find her place in the music industry. The song is a soul-tinged, synth-pop ballad with R&B inflections and a stomping, tribal drum beat throughout. Despite receiving limited attention upon its independent release on 21 August 2015, "New Love" became popular among music tastemakers and helped Lipa receive a longlisting in BBC's Sound of... critics poll for 2016. Photographer Nicole Nodland directed the music video which is a montage of filtered footage of Lipa in Los Angeles doing activities she enjoys. The song was performed during three of the singer's concert tours, the most recent being The Self-Titled Tour in 2017 and 2018.


"Be the One" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her eponymous debut studio album (2017). It was written by Lucy Taylor, Digital Farm Animals and Jack Tarrant, and produced by Digital Farm Animals. The song was released on 30 October 2015 as the album's second single. The single attained chart success throughout continental Europe and Australia. After being sent to contemporary hit radio stations in the United Kingdom on 30 December 2016, "Be the One" entered the UK Singles Chart for the first time, peaking at number nine. It also became Lipa's second number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in the United States.


"Last Dance" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa included on the deluxe edition of her eponymous debut studio album (2017). Lipa wrote the song with Stephen "Koz" Kozmeniuk and Talay Riley, with Kozmeniuk handling the song's production. It was released on 9 February 2016 as the album's second single. The track appears on the deluxe edition of Dua Lipa. It peaked at number four on Billboard's Twitter Emerging Artists chart, where it spent seven weeks


"Hotter than Hell" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her eponymous debut studio album (2017). It was written by Lipa, Adam Midgley, Tommy Baxter and Gerard O'Connell, and produced by Stephen "Koz" Kozmeniuk. The song was released on 6 May 2016 as the album's third single. "Hotter than Hell" peaked at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart, while reaching the top 20 in Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands.


"Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her eponymous debut studio album (2017). It was released on 25 August 2016 as the album's fourth single. The single debuted at number 50 and peaked at number 30 on the UK Singles Chart; in the United States, it reached number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Lipa's first song to chart in the country. It also topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, becoming Lipa's first number-one single on that chart.


"Scared to Be Lonely" is a song recorded by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix and English singer Dua Lipa. It was released on 27 January 2017. Garrix premiered the song at the AVA Festival 2017 in Myanmar in January for New Year. "Scared to Be Lonely" is included on the Complete Edition of Lipa's eponymous debut studio album. The first volume of the official remix EP for the song was released on 17 March 2017, featuring remixes from Brooks, DubVision, Zonderling, Alpharock, Funkin Matt, and Julien Earle. The second volume of the official remix EP was released on 24 March 2017, featuring remixes from Gigamesh, Medasin, Loud Luxury, Conro, LOOPERS and Joe Mason. The artists released an acoustic version of the song on 7 April 2017.
